Built as a Greek church
The Alaçatı Pazaryeri Mosque was built in the 1830s as the Greek Orthodox Church of Agios Konstantinos, opening for worship in 1874. At the time, the building was one of the religious centers of the Greek community living in Alaçatı.
The 1923 population exchange and conversion
Following the 1923 population exchange, new residents settled in the area, and a minaret was added to the church structure, converting it into a mosque. This conversion continues to carry a tangible trace of Alaçatı's demographic history within the building itself.
Preserved icons
The icons inside the building remain preserved behind a curtain today, even after its conversion into a mosque. This detail stands out as physical evidence of the building's layered past.

The mosque sits among Alaçatı's historic stone houses and is, for visitors touring the area, one of the rare stops that tangibly shows the town's demographic history following the population exchange.
