History
The Ancient Theatre of Phokaia was built in the 340s BC and is considered one of the oldest known theatres in Anatolia.
Excavations
Archaeological excavations have been ongoing at the theatre since 1991.

- Location: Foça / İzmir
- Not to be confused with the modern "Open Air Theatre" in the castle courtyard — this ancient theatre is a separate structure about 700 meters away
