History
Teos was one of the 12 cities forming the Ionian League. The city is home to the Temple of Dionysus designed by architect Hermogenes, the largest such temple in Anatolia.
Historical Event
Following the Persian invasion around 546 BC, part of the population migrated to Thrace.
