History
Şirince, formerly known as Kırkınca, was a prosperous Greek settlement of some 1,800 households in the 19th century, known for fig production. Following the 1923 population exchange, migrants from Greece settled in the village.

Located 8 km from central Selçuk, the village is a popular tourist destination known for its stone houses and two historic Greek churches.
